Pastor Mark Christopher
M.Th. Old Testament (NWU); M. Div. (TMS); B. Sc. Pastoral Ministries (LU)
Pastor Christopher has lived and ministered in South Africa since March of 1995 along with his wife Debbie, who is South African. After graduating from The Master’s Seminary in May of 1994, Pastor Christopher was ordained at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. Upon his ordination, Grace Church sent him and his wife to Cape Town as church-planting missionaries. After assisting in a church plant in Durbanville, Pastor Christopher then planted Living Hope Bible Church in Wynberg, where he used church-based training to train his replacement and elders. Presently he is serving as the elder of leadership training and development at Everglen Baptist Church in Durbanville. Besides regularly teaching and preaching, Pastor Christopher has been tasked by the leadership of Everglen Baptist Church to establish a church-housed seminary committed to training up the next generation of Bible expositors in the Cape Town area. He is currently working on a Ph.D. in Old Testament at TMS.
Pastor Christopher brings 26 years of ministry experience to BBI with a focus on teaching Hebrew, Hebrew exegesis, and theology. He also currently serves as the director of BBI.
Pastor Bruce Newsham
M. Div. (TMS); B. Th. (BISA); B. Sc. Honours (Stellenbosch); B.Sc. Chemistry (U of Natal)
Pastor Newsham began actively ministering at the Tygerberg Evangelical Christian Fellowship (TECF) in Bellville in 2003. His commitment to expositional preaching and biblical counseling led him and his wife, Bonnie, to The Master’s Seminary in Los Angeles, California from 2005 through May 2008. Upon graduating from TMS, Pastor Newsham returned to South Africa to resume his ministry at TECF, where he regularly teaches, preaches, and counsels. He also lectured at The Evangelical Bible College from 2009 through 2019 in theology, Bible, and pastoral theology. Pastor Newsham makes regular mission’s trips to Zimbabwe where he lectures and teaches a few weeks every year.
Pastor Newsham brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to BBI. His primary emphasis is Bible survey, practical theology, and church history.


Pastor Denver Solomon
M.Div. (TMS); B.Th. (BISA)
Pastor Solomon has more than 9 years of pastoral and teaching experience at Living Hope Bible Church in the southern suburbs of Cape Town. In 2016, along with his wife Gaenor and his twin boys, he traveled to Los Angeles, California to attend The Master’s Seminary. While in Los Angeles, Pastor Solomon served as an intern at Roosevelt Community Church, where he was ordained after his graduation from TMS. Upon returning to South Africa he resumed the position as the pastor-teacher of Living Hope Bible Church. He has since started a church-based training ministry to disciple men who desire to grow in their knowledge of Christ and pursue ministry. Pastor Solomon is a faithful expositor and has a great passion for the Church of Christ.
Pastor Solomon’s emphasis at BBI is New Testament Greek, theology, and Bible exposition.
Pastor Lönngren Taljaard
Ph.D. Missiology (NWU); M. Th. (NWU); M. Div. (TMS)
Pastor Taljaard completed his Master of Divinity degree at the Master’s Seminary in 2010. Upon returning to South Africa he was involved in itinerate ministry until God opened the door for him and his wife to begin ministry in Stellenbosch as church planters of Stellenbosch Bible Church, where he currently pastors. He has a passion for studying and expositing God’s Word, training up men for the ministry, reaching the lost through evangelism, counseling from Scripture, and all things Church related. In 2021, Pastor Taljaard also completed his Ph.D. in missiology with an emphasis on apologetics.
In addition to personal devotions and study, Pastor Taljaard is convinced that spending time in the Word with his wife and kids, enjoying meals together, and having fun as a family on a regular basis is what ultimately informs his ministering unto the Church.
Pastor Taljaard’s emphasis at BBI is missiology, theology, and apologetics.
