The Berean Bible Institute
“...examining the Scriptures daily...” Acts 17:11
The Berean Bible Institute (BBI) is a brand-new training initiative of Everglen Baptist Church working in close conjunction with three other churches: Living Hope Bible Church, Stellenbosch Bible Church, and Tygerberg Evangelical Christian Fellowship. Our purpose and passion is to fulfill the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20) by training men to be church leaders as approved pastor-teachers who, in turn, can equip their respective churches for the work of ministry (Eph. 4:11-16).
Even though we are a work in progress, we are nevertheless committed to the highest standards of Christian excellence in the “equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12)!
Be a part of our growth
In keeping with our desire to offer biblical and theological education for the serious student who hungers for a deeper understanding of God through His Word, we plan to offer a range of courses in the following disciplines:
Systematic Theology and Apologetics
Biblical Languages: Biblical Hebrew and Greek
Pastoral Theology: Expository Preaching, Biblical Counselling, and Church Administration.
BBI is presently a work in progress and we are in the process of rolling out our program. So, please be patient as we continue to expand our program. BBI is not an accredited institution, but we are in the process of forging an academic partnership with one of two accredited institutions and will be able to comment more fully on this next year.
All four of our primary lecturers are full-time pastors and graduates of The Master’s Seminary in Los Angeles. As such, they all bring a unique blend of academics combined with a wealth of practical experience to the classroom.
Because we know most Christians live hectic lives, our program takes a traditional Bachelor of Theology curriculum and spreads it out over a five-year period. This is made possible by teaching on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 PM to 9 PM at Everglen Baptist Church in Durbanville. In addition, some courses will be taught in a concentrated modular format when BBI hosts visiting lecturers from the USA.
